I do often wonder why “upgrades” seem to inevitably make things worse. And I’m a technophile (as long as you don’t add “early adopter”). What’s wrong with leaving the UI as it was except for adding functionality? Why do they move things? Why does the command have a different name? Why did they take away that little endearing short cut that let me get my job done 15% faster on 85% of the projects? Why did the default background color turn BLACK? and why did they hide the menu item that I used to know about that let me change it?
(I do know the answer: It’s because “they” let the marketing and sales people have a say, and they don’t USE it! )
