As if!

I haven’t darkened the doorway of a cell phone store to beseech anyone for 6 years (because they’re rather unhelpful).

“Oh, this model is old, about 6 months. Time to upgrade to a new phone and new plan. More affordable, just an arm, you can keep your legs.”

if beseeching doesn’t work, try groveling…

I can think of a few establishments where substituting the word ‘besiege’ would be more likely to get a satisfactory outcome.
