Yep, what scares me is it IS sooo true-But, we like our cars don’t we?!? Some of us have Classic Hotrods that REALLY eat it up! Well, don’t complain too much-do you LIKE to walk to work?? Or do you own every remote control there is,and your body would scream out-loud if you walked 1 way to work? Those plastic bottles of “purified” water are a petro- product,did ya know that?? The point being that it’s government bureaucracy in all of its insidious forms that has run the price of gasoline up a LOT.

Every bleeep fool ‘requirement’ that the stupid legislators and government bureaucrats who are NOT engineers, DON’T understand engineering, and DON’T even care that they don’t know what they are talking about, causes the crude oil to be more difficult to get, the gasoline refined from that crude oil to be more expensive to refine, and the heating value of that refined gasoline to be lower than it previously was. So the engines running on that gasoline have to burn MORE of the fuel to get the same energy output from the fuel! And worse yet, the design criteria of the engines themselves have been meddled with by these bureaucrats in ways that make them less efficient than they previously were so they have to burn even MORE fuel to get the same energy output from the engines.

And then I won’t even go into the inflation of the money supply caused by blowing money that we don’t have on idiotic, immoral, illegal, pointless, futile and EXPENSIVE wars that we don’t need. Thereby burning even MORE fuel in the process of running the wars and disrupting the economy and PRODUCTIVE output of the Arab oil states as regards to crude oil supply.

I ride public transit I haven’t been in a private car in 3 years I buy responsibly. But I still demand petroleum products

Hey Lew!! I had a cat like that-she ate everything she saw! I think she was poisened w/anti-freeze-coolent. Sooo, if she or he goes out, be careful. To All: Anti-freeze-coolent is sweet to animals. even if cat’s DON’T hv a “sweettooth” they will drink water w/it in it. PUUULEEEZZE B careful w/the stuff!!

One more thing-it’s an upper folks!! I hv another grey tabby- she’s an inside cat-AND weighs 17 lbs.!! adorable but, I know, unhealthy. She’s soooooo cute tho!!!!! About the comic- the turtle needs a new rider-birds of a feather-etc….

Hey BigChief - in the US, subsidies to oil companies keep the price of gasoline artificially low. Compare the pre-tax price of gasoline in the US to almost any other country in the world that is a net importer of oil and you’ll find that the US prices are almost absurdly low. If the subsidies ended, gasoline would triple almost overnight.

Part of the problem is that we tend to think of oil only in terms of fuel, and not in terms of pharmaceuticals, synthetic fibers, and the myriad bits of plastic: CDs, DVDs (and cases for them), circuit boards, shopping bags, beverage bottles, ink, paint, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

In the UK, petrol is about 120p per litre. That’s about 8.2 dollars a gallon.

They say it’s just the way it is. Is that how the cookie crumbles? When money talks, everybody listens. Be careful what you wish for, ‘Cause you just might get it all. And then some you don’t want.

If deep water drilling is so bad … WHY is the government giving $20 BILLION to George Soros’ Company to drill 3 times deeper than BP did in the Gulf???

Yeah … the billboard should read “Nature is swimming in our profits!” It almost sounds eco-friendly!
