Well, this has been enlightening. Elsewhere I’ve mentioned that I got an e-mail from Joe-Allen Doty which I chose not to open or answer. I’ve been wondering whether that was a mistake. Now I’m thinking that just maybe, that discretion was the better part of valor.
As I just wrote over in Calvin and Hobbes, I suspect that Joe is a Jungian INTP. The way he expresses his thought processes and in what order fits. Unfortunately that type has more trouble than most in relating socially or in admitting error even when caught out in one - and Joe was a more extreme case than many in this.
I’m saying this, knowing that Joe and other concerned parties may read this, because I’ve already told this to him on one of these threads directly and forcefully. He needs to understand that “it’s not all about him”. His high intelligence, dry wit and even occasional great compassion can be great assets if he can learn that lesson.
