I have to say, though I’m not a vegan or vegetarian, all this bile aimed at them seems unwarranted. Of course there are holier-than-thou vegans, but I’ve been witnessing some obnoxious, holier-than-thou omnivors too. And yes, I do know some vegans – very nice – and healthy people. One is a phenominal cook, and when she sometimes cooks for us, nobody think, “Oh, vegan.” We think, “Man, this is some really good food.”
There has never been a problem with protein in vegan diets (in fact, too much protein is common for sedentary meat eating humans – it causes acidosis, which in turn depletes calcium).
The only difficult nutrient for a vegan diet is vitamin B12. There is no non-animal source. Most modern vegans eat yeast – a one celled animal that is high in B12 (and other B vitamins). Yeast also adds a yummy cheesy flavor.
There are successful primitive cultures that are strictly vegan. They get their B12 from either fertilizing with animal or human manure and resulting contamination (bacteria create B12 in your gut – too late for you to adsorb it) or contamination with insects.
Vegan food is bright and colorful. Meat dishes tend to be boring browns and grays.
Last night on THE MILLERS the grandmother accidentally feeds meat lasagna to daughter of her Vegan daughter. Child discovers she loves all meats. Even though the parents pretend to be non judgmental, the girl knows better and stays in the omnivore closet.
my problem is those that say no carbs. When what they really mean is no starch. grains, celery, peaches, apples, corn, peas, carrots, grapes, are carbs. We have protein, carbs and fats. .oh and I thought vegans were from Vegas. :)

me and my vegan friends never talk about our food choice because we are tired of fat people asking us if we get enough protein

I did not scratch and claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat plants.

Just don’t ask a vegan if you have any milk, cheese or eggs in it.

If the Creator had meant for us to abstain on the other 6 days as well as on Fridays, why did He make animals out of meat?
