    I remember Y2K. My employer spent big bucks on checking out the programming of everything. And our engineering staff sat there all night just in case something happened.

    Y2K—I made big bucks installing standby generators!

    It’s really insane to worry about Earth turning into Venus in 500 years. Creating laws that will prevent that is so comical while our government spends money out of control and burdens our children and grandchildren. Great sense of priorities!

    Actually, Microsoft didn’t make humoungous profits over Y2K, maybe gigantic. I worked for an outsourcer for Microsoft back then. I got a lot of letters from companies asking if their programs would work after Jan 1, 2000.
