For crying out loud…A joke is a joke. If you can not take a joke about your profession, then maybe it is you that has the problem. Seems to me that you deep down truly do not like your job, and take it out on those that make jokes.

I have several family members that are RNs, and they all laugh and make jokes themselves. So get off your high horse, or get a new job.

I’m a professional secretary. Look at the bad stereotypes my profession STILL gets (like always being the “other woman”). There are worse things to be called than “cute”.

Get over it. Its a comic. A play on words. There is no intent to degrade Women or the Nursing profession. If you are any kind of health professional One would think you might have developed a thicker skin.

It’s good to see you take pride in your work. A joke or two is in no way meant to be disrespectful. I think you are happy with your job, and even take pride in doing a good job. I think what you are really concerned about is being referred to as acute. So save the donuts for the doctors, give a patient a shot or two, and you will feel a lot better.

@c.daviesI have always considered nurses as human beings and not a topic of jokes; with my luck the only time I would get a cute nurse to tend me it would be a male.

If you’ve been a nurse for 40 years, he’s probably not talking about you.

My nurse at the VA is a nurse, a professionally trained medical practitioner and she is cute. I know here fairly well and know she would take it as a compliment to be called cute.

I am a retired teacher who taught for 40 years. In my early years, I was known as the “cute teacher” and it never bother me. What is so sweet is my husband who still thinks I am "cute’ and I just love it!!

I’ve joked with nurses even while they helped the Doc stitch me up. I’ve never met an unkind Nurse. But everyone’s profession is a joke waiting to be told.

A classmate was often offended that I called her “cute”. Many years later, I said I knew it offended her to be told but that she was still cute... She let me known it no longer did because it had been so long since she last heard it.

My wife is a retired RN, having worked for the Minneapolis VA Hospital most of her life. She loves jokes about nurses and doctors, and can tell some stories that will bring many folks to their knees! These are stories, and of course the names are changed to protect the innocent, but they are true stories nonetheless!.Lighten up…

I have no need to add to a cute nurse – male or female, dialogue. Everyone have been very cute with their comments.
