Cut up those plastic 6 pack carriers so not a single intact opening is left.

Not even remotely funny. Baslim and Roots elaborate on why, and what to do about it.

@phil: numerous aquatic critters have been caught in the “rings of death” in lakes, oceans, etc.

The six pack holder was on the ground, the little egg got caught in it.

This has to be the least thought out eco-joke this year.

It is a physical impossibility to hatch from an egg, get caught in a plastic ring, and live long enough to be deformed in this matter.

“Don’t discard” is one thing, “dumb-dumb-dumb” is quite another.

Why don’t they go back to the cardboard holder? That can easily be recycled. They are now shrink wrapping 6 packs of 20oz. Diet Pepsi bottles and that is just as bad. At least if the cardboard package doesn’t get recycled it will eventually break down or could be composted.

I’ve been very happy with all the ecologically responsible comments made in reply to my suggestion the 6 pack holders get cut up properly.
