Hindsight is always smart. So are excuses.

First off, the Grace Commission consisted of a bunch of semi-political semi hacks. All had a preconceived notion of what the report would say, especial Grace. Second, that was then, when interest rates were over ten percent. This is NOW when interest rates are near ZERO, so the report is not only out of date, but completely WRONG. But you still believe it, and will continue to believe it regardless of the facts, because you have a preconceived notion of what the facts should be.

It is up to the “little people” to make life nice for the rich.. That.. is the way the system works.

Trump is so smart he lost a billion dollars that his daddy gave him. He was born on third and ran back to second. But this seems smart to Republicans because he is an old white man. So what is the Republican plan for roads, bridges, airports and military? Just make them great? ha!

What Trump considers smart is making sure the chumps and patriots pay, even when the rich deadbeats don’t have to. Same as military service. Don’t you think Trump should have some skin in the game?

Then WHY are there LEGAL tax laws that he used???? Take the write offs away and then he will pay. DUH. However…if he committed fraud then that’s tax evasion. There, that’s your free legal obvious tax advice of the day.

Folks, if Trump were following the laws on his tax returns, he wouldn’t keep getting audited, year after year after year after year…The IRS doesn’t throw you in jail for cheating on your taxes. If you’ve got some sharp lawyers, you can often get them to settle for far less than what’s owed. That’s why the system is rigged for people like Trump.

Trump isn’t a tax genius. The tax code that let’s him write off a billion dollar loss against his income over 18 years is H&R Block level tax genius. Trump’s real genius is proposing a tax plan that would HUGELY benefit him & his family, while getting his supporters to think he’ll actually do anything for them.

Obviously none of you are accountants.. this is a common thing and evens out years with profits with years of losses. once you get above zero AGI you pay taxes until you have a loss then you can carry it forward or back depending on where the loss is. done all the time and is called tax planning… Media making a HUGE deal of nothing…Media as usual is so dishonest.

The sad fact is that if anyone in my lifetime did or said any of the things Trump has done or said they wouldn’t have a chance at being elected. They would have been laughed at, and denounced by everyone. We live in sad times, and they may become much much worse!

“That’s the amazing thing, is that half of the country is paying nothing, zero. And even if you don’t make a lot you should have to pay something, just something to be a part of the game,” said Donald Trump.

Iron Legion Before income tax, there was the vestige of the “well-regulated militia” (when WW-II started, we had the 8th largest military in the world, but we rearmed fast enough), the infrastructure was by prison labor and the conscripted poor who didn’t have property to tax. All Republican regressive. A lot of the economy was on barter. People died young, no medical care, malnutrition rampant, etc.

Under the New Gocomics World Order, I can no longer put the reference name on a separate line from the comment. How do the rest of you manage to keep doing it?

So, trump is brilliant for utilizing every bit of the tax code to pay nothing. (I can just see him sitting at the computer working on his taxes like I do. Oh, you mean his accountants do it? My bad.) My problem is that he and his ilk have the wherewithal to buy the politicians to write the tax code so he can do that. And you want me to get the tax code changed. Reality misses you.

And I miss the parts of GoComics that let a poster put emotion into a post. Now it’s just prose.

Two line returns in a row get you a new line.

I learned that in the Dick Tracy comments.
