Imagine a household with one man and one woman (or equal numbers of males and females). Suppose each one uses the toilet four times a day, and always puts the seat down. The man has to sit down once, and the woman has to sit down every time. Thus, the seat will be in the proper position for the woman every time, and for the man one time out of four. That’s totally unfair!! The best rule is “Leave it like you left it.” That will still give the woman the advantage, but it’s closer to being fair.
