Throw used pumpkins in the wooded ares so animals can eat it. I do that every the seeds are removed. Deer, rabbits, raccoons, all vegetarian animals will enjoy it, and be fed. Cit it into pieces first.
Around here, you are lucky if someone doesn’t come around and smash the pumpkin in the street before it has been out for more than a few days. Some folks have started putting out plastic pumpkins because of that. Those who do the smashing should be ashamed of themselves!

Sad, but if you throw it behind the garage, next spring you will have a pumpkin patch.

Try that in Arizona and you’ll get a herd of javelinas at your doorstep. Just do an image search on Arizona Javelina Pumpkins.
