Schadenfreude: happiness at the misfortune of others. You can find a lot of it on playgrounds across the world, but eventually kids learn to mask it with a false sense of empathy. It’s usually the unfortunate who have the real sense of empathy. Too bad they rarely rise to positions of power to do much about the misery they’ve witnessed.
