Lately I have been hearing it takes 21 days of doing something to have it become a habit..I have done a training run in the snow. As long as I was on the snow – it was fun. Cold wet freezing slush along the seawall did not make me happy..All training should be in dry temperate conditions.
Fortunately, it’s only 45-F in Baltimore right now, so I may be able to get out for a walk. These bones are too old for a run, and my dog has to stop at every watering hole and telephone pole along the path, anyway.
Good to know I can go back to my own way of thinking. Some things take a week, some a couple of months and since I still on rare occasion want a smoke – 10 years or longer.
If you live in a place where heavy snowfall is fairly routine, cross-country skiing and wearing snow shoes both make for great exercise (not that I do either), and you won’t sink in.

I went outside yesterday and sunk into the snow up to my knees. That’s about 18 inches of loose snow. NOBODY runs in THAT!

Why are bad habits so hard to break, and good ones so hard to keep?
