I’m impressed how the mac and cheese has been molded into the shape of slices of pork loin.

I hope at least the macaroni and cheese wasn’t made with that powdered “cheese” that comes in an envelope in a box. And maybe she had time to cut up a few frankfurters to drop in?

I just suggested to Hubby that we do this. Of course, his idea of ‘dressing up’ means putting on a clean polo shirt. We never look as if we’re going the same place.

When I was a kid “Mac & Cheese” (Kraft Dinner to Canadians) was living high on the hog and we knew dad just got paid. We were the “poor kids” on the block, but we never realized it.

    Fancy Macaroni and Cheese

1 cup any quality pasta, needs not be macaroni (personally, I like pasta shells and cheese)1 cup, shredded aged old cheddar cheeseCouple shots of half-and-halfButter (not margarine! butter!)Panko bread crumbsPepper

Prepare pasta like you usually do – boil, drain.

Throw in shredded cheese, butter and cream. Stir until evenly done.

Throw mac and cheese into casserole dish. Sprinkle atop with pepper and panko bread crumbs and broil in oven until golden brown.

    Serves 4

This fancy dress family also had mac & cheese (Amy’s frozen) for dinner last night together with a huge salad. The best!
