you can only defy death for so long, then it defies you.

The poor guy on the left. He probably told all of his friends about his big break as an extra in Betty… and then the speech bubble takes him out.

Just kick the wheels out form under him!

They’re even better when death wins.

No mask, no hands, texting, and biking on the sidewalk. He ticks all the dumb boxes.

Real death-defyers ride track bikes. No brakes. No gears. I’ve actually seen them riding down city streets.

he’s young.

therefore he is invulnerable .

and he will not age

ah. the bliss of the young.

the self assured confidence that not only is all well, it will stay that way

And clown acts, too.

I’ve seen people doing that in cars.

Look at Guelph, Ontario Canada. They installed traffic lights 30 feet from another set at an intersection. Why? Because the students at the high school would not walk the 30 feet to the intersection. They just walked into traffic texting…right in front of moving vehicles. Did they use the new traffic lights? Nope. They STILL walk right into traffic looking down at their smart phone.

I used to ride home from school on my 10-speed with both arms loaded with books. Steering was done by leaning. Stopping was done by not pedaling to slow down way before the stop, and foot friction to actually stop.

I saw this in real life just the other day. On the street. In a city.
