What’s next, wake up and smell the coffee?

I would do that, but given my diminished sense of smell (no, it’s not from Covid, it set in a long time ago), all roses and all flowers smell the same to me: “plant”.

Most tea roses have no scents. David Austin roses, on the other hand, are amazing.

It’s an apt metaphor but the real thing is great also. I’m browsing catalogs looking for trees/shrubs for wildlife.

The home and garden shows will start this month.

This very morning I jokingly told my wife that she needs to take time “to stop and smell the coffee.” She told me that with her schedule, she barely has time to drink her coffee. That’s when I realized how truly deep and profound my little quip actually was — a reminder to slow down in our busy lives and appreciate the little things in life — like a good cup of coffee.

I’m in full philosopher mode today, folks!

Better keep away from the other side of the arboretum. That’s where they keep the Amorphophallus titanum …

That’s the Muttart Conservatory…. they live in Edmonton.

Looks like her resolution was actually her resolution for herself AND everyone else.
