Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce for December 28, 1996
Transcript:
Nate: I wrote this poem for Jenny, the girl I like! Will you proofread it for me? Gordie: Sure! Although I give you gifts and stuff, my burnin' love you e'er rebuff. You treat me like a painful cyst, but still your charms I can't resist. You're the itch I've got to scratch. You're the candle, I'm the match. You're the scab I've got to pick. You're the dog and I'm the tick. Nate: Find any mistakes? Gordie: It's good you came to me.

I actually appreciate the Shakespearean vocabulary and interesting words in the first part of the poem.
