Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce for March 28, 1999
Transcript:
Nate: Something's not right here... Teddy: What's not right? Nate: This comic strop I'm working on. Nate: It's just not funny! But according to all the rules of cartooning, it should be hilarious! Teddy: What "Rules of Cartooning"? Nate: There are certain things that are sure-fire laugh-getters in comic strips! And I've got all of 'em in here! Nate: I've got a monkey, a guy slipping on a banana peel. A talking duck... Nate: ...A fat guy in his underwear, a falling anvil, a hairless cat, a guy getting hit in the face with a pie... Nate: ...And yet it's still kind of flat! I need more! I've got to add something else! Teddy: How about a wedgie? Nate: Hey! Yeah! Yank! Nate: The galling thing is that, technically, I gave him permission to do that.
