Dad wouldn't have the heart to veto a gift from one of his kids to the other! ELLEN: Hmmm... NATE: (thought) I'll get you a dog if you'll get me a cat! "I couldn't go through with it."
If I wanted a dog THAT bad, I would have done that, despite being afraid of cats.
