Mrs. Godfrey says. "I'm writing you a detention slip, Nate, for referring to me as 'Fat' and 'Nasty.'" Nate says, "What? I didn't say that!" Nate says, "I didn't say you were fat and nasty! I said your fingerprints were fat and nasty!" Nate says, "I mean, everybody's fingerprints are fat and nasty, right? That's just the way fingerprints are!" Mrs. Czerwicki says, "Ten detentions?" Nate says, "One for each fingerprint."
Ms. Godfrey is totally in the wrong here, first of all she was eavesdropping on his conversation which is rude, also now Nates not allowed to have opinions any more? And she’s giving him detention, even though that doesn’t work, meaning she’s just doing this to spite him. Plus, the impressionable young student insulting the teacher says more about the teacher than it does about the student. Ms. Godfrey is too emotionally immature to handle being insulted by a LITERAL eleven year old. I mean, Ms. Godfrey should be the bigger person here, talk about why Nate is being, insulted by Ms. Godfrey work through the problems and act like an adult, But no, Ms. Godfrey, is just dETenTIon NAte!!!!! that, will just make Nate hate and insult her more. I think its wrong that students get punished for insulting teachers in schools. Its a violation of free speech. Do adults get punished for insulting world leaders NO!
