Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce for January 23, 2012
Transcript:
One day to go! If I make it through today without getting a detention, I win my bet with Gina! You look a little tense. Obviously I'm tense, Francis! It's hard work! Do you have any idea what it's like to suck up to ur teachers all the... oh.. heh heh... Remember who you're talking! Yeah, what am I saying? That's your life!
Nate, BE CAREFUL. DON’T JINX IT.
Don’t insult or put down your supporters!
Oh, I now have a funny feeling….
CAREFUL, NATE, CAREFUL!
Like Han Solo to Luke Skywalker – “Great, kid! Don’t get cocky!”
Nate, I’m pulling for you. Mrs. Godfrey, yes, she overreacts, but she is the boss. Gina is a good student, but not necessarily a nice person.
Nate, you are a good guy at heart and that is why I’m rooting for you to win.
Keep that good guy ethic at heart, and you’ll win – not every time, but when it counts the most.
Go, Nate, Go. I can hardly wait to read tomorrow’s strip, whether or not Nate wins or Gina wins.
But I really do hope that Nate wins. Nate has learned a lot of lessons. It’s time for Gina to shelve that malice and arrogance. Nate has shelved the malice and the arrogance, and by gum, it’s working.
Go, Nate, GO! DON’T SCREW IT UP! DON’T JINX IT!
