It’s an individual trait. Our big cat loves strangers and our little cat is quite shy.

Another case of a dog who should not be allowed to run free. Did you see its hackles?____I was once out walking my dog and a shepherd cross came bounding out of its yard. My dog panicked and tried to take off, thereby strangling herself at the end of the leash ki-yiing the whole time. I hollered at the dog to go home while trying to reel mine in so I could pick her up.-The dog’s owner came out and took hold of his dog saying ,“She won’t hurt you.”—My answer was an unfriendly, “We don’t know that.”

I agree that dogs are friendlier to humans than cats are. The only exception are mean killer dogs that are trained to be ruthless like bulldogs.

How do they climb that tree?

We have a cat that seems to be friendlier with strangers than with us.
