Francis: I proposed the idea of a "gap year" to my Dad and he totally shut me down! Nate: All I was trying to tell him was that I deserve a break from the drudgery of school! Francis: What do you call the last two months? Nate: That's just the response you'd expect from somebody who went shopping for 3-ring binders back in July.
In New England, the first day of school has typically always been after Labor Day. But I’ve noticed in recent years some schools are starting before that. I’m glad my student days are long past, because I’d hate starting school in August.
