Kind of a disappointing arc, it was predictable from the beginning and the only thing that was unique was that it didn’t end with Nate saying “Oh how I hate her.” I feel like it could have been better. Did you guys like this arc, or did you think it was too cliche?

I think Nate will continue drawing Mrs. Godfrey comics, and I am surprised that Mrs. Godfrey thinks he will stop because of this.

“Detention” is now called “Sensitivity Training” and is much more of a punishment.

This arc was cliche, but still very funny. I hope there will be some hockey comics this winter.

I know this is not related to the comic, but I haven’t been here for the past few days, and I didn’t see Martysays today so is he gone?

I really didn’t want to write this, but I feel I have to from what I’ve been seeing recently in the comment section.

Since when did the Big Nate comment section get so restrictive? And, when I mean this, I mean the tolerating of no comments to be unrelated to the strip. The following does not include the polls from EllenSays, because he was being an internet troll, leading to his banning. But what about the riddles from “The Commentator”? I personally see nothing wrong with them. Does everything have to be related to the strip? And from what “10/10” had to say about the strip, and his criticism toward it. Does everything have to be positive toward the strip? When did an internet comment section have so many rules?

The only reason people hated polls during “The Great Poll War” was how they started to get stupider and stupider. But, because of that war, it created this undying hatred toward anything that isn’t related to the strip. What is there is a person that honestly wants to know the other users in the comment section better through polls, not to be featured? It would be a tough day for that person seeing a swarm of other angry users flagging it and saying “This shouldn’t be unrelated to the strip”. And for the people who worry of another poll war, it obviously wouldn’t happen if that’s what the majority of the comment section is trying to avoid. It’s just led to a time where somebody makes a poll, it gets flagged and everyone starts yelling at that person. So, what if they want to be featured through that trolling? Those trollers work with the anger toward unrelated content, and it’s very easy to just ignore it because that’s not what started it in the first place.

But I get it, this is a comment section for “Big Nate”. But that doesn’t mean it has to be perfect. Everyone has their own things to say, and it can be criticized or enjoyed by everyone. Everyone has their own opinions. And the hate toward the riddles and polls dosen’t make sense. Thank you.

This proves that Mrs. Godfrey truly is sadistic. She’s laughing while sending Nate to detention.

Mrs. Godfrey talked with Nate for so long to watch him squirm and got schadenfreude from sending him to detention.

Anyone else notice that she handed the notebook back to Nate BEFORE telling him the condition? Shouldn’t he have had to agree to the deal first before receiving his book?

I think the first strip had potential but when I saw the second strip I knew how it was going to end.

Does Pierce ever reply to comments anymore?

I don’t know if any of you noticed, but I think Lincoln Peirce broke the fourth wall with the fourth panel. I think Nate is referring to the first three panels in his thought balloon.

There are so many arguments going on because people are saying this arc is “generic”, and others disagree. I respect everyone’s opinion, but can you can give your opinion without being excessively negative? Not giving any names, but for example, could a certain someone not say he/she “wasted a part of his/her life reading this arc”? Thank you.
