Big Nate: Total Madness: Part 1, Chapter 5

“Sooo, Nate, how’s… life?”, Mom asks.

“Well, I play soccer, baseball, basketball and chess. I have two best friends, Francis and Teddy, one of them lives next to mine”, I reply.

“Really?”, Mom keeps on asking. “Can I meet them?”

“Sure, I’ll just text them”.

After ten minutes, Francis and Teddy are at my house.

“Holy cow!”, Francis exclaimes, when he sees Mom. “You’re Nate’s mom?”

“Yeah”, Mom replies.

“B-b-but HOW?!”, Teddy stammers. “Nate told us you live at the Northwest!”

“Mom moved out of there”, I explain everything. “Now, she lives here”.

“Really? She really moved in—”, Francis asks.

“What? No!”, I scold. “She’s just living in the city!”

“So, Nate, you and Nigel are—”, Teddy wants to ask me.

“Yes, we’re twin brothers”, I say.

“Cool!”, Francis and Teddy reply.

“Hey, how about you and Ellen visit me and Mom at my house at the weekend?”, Nigel asks.

“Sure!”, Ellen says. “Dad, can we see Mom and Nigel on Saturday?”

“I don’t know”, Dad replies.

“Dad, we haven’t seen Mom in ages! Please, please, please!”, Ellen keeps on convincing.

“Okay, you can go”, Dad answers.

“Nice!”, I say. “So, Mom, see you on Saturday!”

“Okay, bye Nate! Bye Ellen!”, Mom goes out with Nigel.

“Bye!”, Ellen and I wave her “bye”.
