It’s too bad that Peirce seems to keep himself back from exploring beyond his comfort zone. Just when Gina was starting to have more depth as a character and a new side to her was being opened up which was not unsympathetic to the reader – just when some of us here felt that the strip was moving in a new direction and Nate and the gang were evolving in a refreshingly interesting way – it’s back to Nate’s smelly shoes again and Gina’s broken heart and insecurity are left abandoned. I was really hoping for the Gina arc to last a number of weeks a la the Peppermint Patty arcs in Peanuts. It was interesting to see Gina thinking of Ms Godfrey in a new light and seeking agreement from Nate, and I wanted to see more of that. I also wanted to see whether Chad would finally become aware of Gina’s feelings for him. Finally, it would have been nice to see Gina talking her troubles of the heart over with Daphne.
