Hi Tabby and Carmy and thanks for breakie, Carmy. I haven’t been around for a while but should be back in the next couple of days. Has anything happened that I should know about?
You’re welcome, Tabby!
Going on a toon tour…
Hey, I was studying Wink’s new look and he seems to have a Jay Leno chin thing going on there. Whoa, his chest, oh my!!
CARMY Don’t ever tell me to help myself at a Buffet bar! I come back with at least 2 plates, sometimes 3. But since it’s breakfast one big overflowing one will do! LOL!
Marg good morning to you. you should be sleeping you know that. :0)
it was not that much work, okay it was but it was fun. most fun i had with histroy thats for sure.
dawn sunday is my last day. i start school again on wend. im going to miss her, but i need to be away and she needs her mom. how have you been? we have not talked lately
Back from the airport and back from grocery shopping for LG’s mom.
Oooh a breakfast buffet. I will have panfried trout with eggs over easy, crispy hashbrowns, whole wheat toast with extra bitter orange marmalade, oysters on the half shell and the entire catalogue of models from Victoria’s Secret. I only want the models because I am a model citizen. :-)
I’ve been well, thanks. went back to Calgary for Christmas and just arrived back in BC yesterday after a very hectic three weeks or so. Now I need to relax and recuperate.
You’ll find school a relief, in a way but I can understand you missing Ana.
Dawn, has anything happened? Um, I had a little medical thing done and I was in some pain but all is well now.
Dry, they’re moobs! LMBO!! I used to embarrass my Mom at the buffet. She said I should stop acting like I never ate before.
”Morning Tabby, Dawn, Dry and Marg! Glad you all like the buffet! You all are very elcome too!
Good Morning, Cleo! Well, I did say “anything you can imagine” so if it’s the Victoria’s Secret Models for you, then so be it! It’s not going to be me getting in trouble with LG.Snerk
Sorry to hear that, Carmy. I hope you are better. I know you have certainly had your medical problems and have been praying that they are over for you.
You deserve happiness and good health after all you’ve been through, Carmy!
Well, I don’t know how you easterners can stay up so late - of course, you are all much younger than me (well, some of you are) but my bed is calling me.
Cy’all on the morrow!
Carmy & Dawn , I think a gathering around the Tribal fire is in order. We can heal all wounds and just be a healing force. (I wish we could, in reality, sit before a healing fire, all together as a tribe).
Cleo, I’m still here. I was saying goodnight to Marg and Dawn as they were signing off. I still haven’t taken my toon tour. I took a long nap after dinner so I’ll be up for a little longer.
Hope everyone is doing well today. It’s ok at this end of the computer. I am being transferred back to Exports. Exports is extremely busy and they need another body, but we’re not hiring (bummer) so my meager workload (meager because I am still learning) can easily be spread among the rest of the group. As often as I see my cube-mate reading msnbc and such I don’t think they’ll suffer much. I don’t know what I’ll be doing yet….but I’d be wasted if it was anything except bookings and/or hazardous inputs. However, my motto is ‘Have Desk Will Work’.
It’s cold here, but not as bad as they thought it would be. I put my plasma money in the bank and ordered this month’s Angel Food. I was able to come up with the $$ for the seafood box which pleases me. I love most seafood.
Got to make the toon tour. I’m making chili today, perfect weather for it. Trying out the new frying pan I got with an Xmas giftcard. Catch you later.
Doc regrettably no extra $$$$, Exports was my previous position, I was moved in August to learn Imports, but Exports is drowning and they need me. Hey, I’ve still got a job. As long as I have a chair, a computer and a paycheck every other Friday I’m a happy camper.
Good morning, Terry, Doc, Cleo, Quaby and anyone else that is up and around.
Our forecast for today is sunny, 17F for the high, and 0F for the low. Accuweather claims it is up to 1 F right now. We’re not supposed to get up above freezing until tomorrow (32 for the high) or Monday (40).
I’ve got to get some work done outside around here, so BBL.
Good Morning Rmom. Terry is it unusual for it to be as cold as it is where you live? That sounds colder than I would have thought that it would get there.
Have fun at pool, Terry!
Good morning, johnny & tabby!
I’m back inside where it’s warm, but it is now up to 6 F outside. I bundled up so well, that towards the very end, I started sweating. Probably because my job involved walking & fire.
we will be going to the store soon and he decieds this when i have a wet head from just getting out the shower. how nice of dad. maybe ill get food somehow. hope so i want a hamburger.
After I was outside “playing” with fire, I came in and took a shower. Between the sweating and the smoke smell, it is a good feeling to be clean again! I’ve got inside work to do now, so I’ll be off & on for the rest of the day.
DocT, is it true your are what you eat? Then the stuff below might explain a few things….like love of snow & cold!! SNERK!!
Doctor ToonGenius_badge said, about 16 hours ago
Fortunately, the junk food I like isn’t the worst stuff.
I’m a cracker-a-holic, I can eat a whole box after eating what most people would consider a full meal.
The way I love crackers, breads, and other grain based foods I should have been a horse.
Thanks for the wonderful Karma last Sunday. I just heard from my cc company they are extending the ASSIST program for us. With that and the Employment Commission getting my hubby’s unemployment straight and catching us up I can breath a moment. Not long…but a moment.
Chili smells good. Got to eat, shower and go out on my Saturday rounds. Ya’ll take care and stay warm!
Oh, the temperature is finally 34F, and that’s about as high as it’s gonna get. I better start saving for the electric bill, the heater’s gonna kill us!
Quaby - You’re right about the heating bill. My mom’s house is heated with natural gas. This month’s bill is $125, and the month before was $53. Considering that for most of the time this month, the thermostat has been turned down about 10 degrees from what it was before she died, that is some increase!
okay so i got a call made my day, she told me to call when i got home and go over, well i have called 2 times an hour apart like she said to do. and no answer. Ana is ready to go also she misses her. im all frustrated again. sigh im to emotional!!!
Cleo so um… we were in the store and i passed by a section and all i could do was laugh i truly laughed out loud. guess what i smelt…..
WET PAINT!!!! LOL
my brother looked at me like i was crazy he asked what was wrong, i told him nothing but if only they knew. oh it was greatness. it made my day today. i needed that laugh
Bummer, Terry! I used to play pool a couple times a week when I was single, but rarely get a chance now. I got one game in while we were in FL, and it would have been embarrassing if we’d had any spectators. Thankfully, I was playing my son, and he’s about the same skill level. I hope when we move, we’ll have a family room large enough to accommodate a pool table. It is one sport us old folks and the younger ones can all enjoy. Plus, I figure if it is in the basement, it would be a great piece of furniture to climb under in case of a tornado!
Naomi - I think you’re right about the cold. I’d guess almost all dogs who get groomed spend the majority of their time indoors, and aren’t accustomed to being out in the cold. We used to have a Great Pyranees/Chow/Shepherd mix dog. He LOVED the cold weather! We’d leave the garage door up far enough so he could come in and out, and so we could keep his food dry, and his water clean. It could be a freezing rain, and he’d be outside, just loving it. Of course, he really liked it when we’d go sledding nearby, but he wanted to climb ON the sled with me. 100+ pounds of dog wasn’t what I considered a lap dog!
Well we had a wonderful day. The temp got up into the upper 50s on a Sunny day. We rode our bikes around the lake a half marathon was being run at the same time. The winner of the race could actually run faster than my wife could bike. We then drove to the Oyster Bar, a nice restaurant overlooking Samish Bay. We both had a couple of glasses of wine and ate Trout served in a port sauce with basil oil and raspberries and was stuffed with chanterelle mushroom and pine nuts. We than drove to Padilla Bay and walked through the wildlife sanctuary and interpretive center. It felt like spring had arrived. We just got back and it felt so good to be in the fresh bay air.
Hey Doc, our paper has been full of really nasty local news as well. Yesterday a domestic dispute ended with a man shooting and wounding his wife. He killed her 14 year old daughter and himself. He was a local planning comissioner and I had actually seen him around over the years.
Doc I think there is more violence because people are feeling more stress from lack of jobs and shortness of money. And some people just can’t seem to control their tempers.
Shika - Thanks for asking. It is going okay working on Mom’s house, just that it is overwhelming how much work there is to do. Thankfully my best friend has volunteered to help me, which makes it a much more enjoyable time, when she’s there with me. I signed the papers with a realtor, so she’ll start showing it in a week. So right now, we’re concentrating on getting the worse of the clutter removed, and taking out anything that we don’t want to fall into the wrong hands. One of my brothers is coming in tomorrow and will spend a couple of days or so, doing some minor handyman tasks. Most of the work for now is stuff that is better for us females to do - a lot of tedious sorting and cleaning. The bad part is all the stuff I’m dragging home, and needing to find places for here.
Terry - I used to have an advantage when I played pool on a regular basis. I would play at a certain tavern, but they only served 3.2 beer. I never liked the taste of beer well enough to get even tipsy, so I was sober and played against people who weren’t. It was fairly cheap entertainment for me, drinking either water or Coke, and games were a quarter a piece, with the challenger paying for the game. I liked winning, but my ego wasn’t hurt if I didn’t. If a guy was a sore loser, I knew I didn’t want to date him, so it served to help screen out the abusive type guys.
Have fun Doc!
Cleo, today has been miserable. My friends and I had a little too much fun last night. I had to work today, and felt absolutely terrible. I feel better now, and that is why we are having a nice quiet night tonight.
Okay, they’re $5 each, but it’s $20 more than I have right now.
Hmmm, it’s 28F, not much warmer than it was around noontime or so. Oh well.
Chili’s ready and tasty! It’s in the kitchen, rice, fritos and shredded cheese available as well! Eat and fear not, it’s not really spicy but it does have a good taste.
Tabby I don’t think our Domino’s has changed their sauce, and they never put enough toppings on. I miss their old subs and salads, but I do like the new sandwiches they have, they just aren’t big enough for me! :-) Oh and I love their hot wings!
johnny sometimes fun has it’s drawbacks. Take for instance when Dry & JFri partake of my Booker’s. They have the fun (involving painting under the influence) and I pay for it the next day.
Quaby congrats on the sale. Your chili sounds perfect for a Saturday evening.
Dry, I’m surprised you don’t spit fire with all that hot stuff you like to consume. Hey, there’s a thought! Have some more hot stuff and breathe fire on the trolls that continue to plague us here. I’ll back you up with my machetes.
Oh yeah there are drawbacks. None of us felt good today. I think we will tone it down in the future. As for damage to personal property, we always end up at a place that isn’t mine to drink. I like that system.
dry and Carmy sorry i ran off on you two. Ana and myself had a bit of a disargreement shes bathing again shes tired. Tabby is wining this fight shes ready for bed at 8 lately. :D i feel good.
That’s a good system johnnyd unless you are driving. It is best to have a way to get home that doesn’t include driving after drinking. The New Years before this last one, we had a few people over and had them all spend the night. It was fun, nobody drank a lot, but everybody could relax and enjoy the evening without thoughts of driving home.
Dry hot sauce and jalepenos are now on the table. Hubby has halabano sauce (the hottest stuff), so I will mark that one as HOT in bold letters and get it on the table.
Quaby Habanero sauce? I shall have that! I love it! I grow my own habaneros in the summer, and it’s worth the rubber gloves and tears and sneezing as I clean them!
I like habaneros. But my stomach wouldn’t like me if I had any today.
It is a nice system for Ann Arbor, but that is a compact city, Grand Rapids, the city I grew up in, is very spread out, so buses don’t work well there. Have to use a DD.
Johnny, I spent a summer in Austin Texas, very close to the Univ. of Texas area. I noticed that they had a lot places that were walking distance too. My fav was a place that had an indoor/outdoor pub with dollar pitchers and tasty nachos.
Cleo why don’t you and I make a batch of Habanero pepper jam next summer? Goes great with seafood and any meat! And is tasty on lunch meat sandwiches too!
I haven’t been to a bar in years, but I know in restaurants, drinks are really expensive. But if I’m out having a good meal, it’s worth the price if you are enjoying the evening.
evening Tribefolks. been out and about all day, and just got home in time to watch the hockey game. now that it’s over (Leafs lost again sigh) i’ve come here to catch up again. congrats to *Quaby on the earring sales (i’m sure every bit helps). Dry if you are breathing fire because of all the spicy foods, would that make you a “dragon lady” of some sort? we’d make a rather odd menagerie, the group of us, what with people who are doggish, catlike, wolves, dragons, and a part polar bear like me.
Hi yyyguy! I have always loved hot and spicy foods! I’m half Italian and all our big Sunday family gatherings at the noon meal had some sort of Hot Peppers involved. I guess that’s not an Italian thing, really, but it was in my family!
DocT & cleo were wondering about violence and mental illness earlier - whether it was more prevalent recently or just garnered more coverage because of media saturation. i’d like to weigh in on the side of more coverage by media making it seem more common, but i’d also like to note that improved diagnostic ability gets people who used to be thought of as criminals, properly referred to as ill, now. i saw parts of a show on CBC about a young girl who had a mental illness which caused her to be put into juvenile detention and, later, into the prison system where she eventually suicided - all because she never got the help she needed. in any event, it’s sad.
i saw a recipe in a magazine for hot buttered rum. looks almost like it should be an egg nog kind of consistency to it, but it is definitely a drink Tabby. i’ve fixed myself a nice glass of whisky on the rocks to sip at while i type. if my leeters start to get slurred, you know the reason why.
good night Shika
high today was mid teens Fahrenheit. tomorrow should be around mid twenties. one of the things i did today was visit Mom’s grave (which is in a country graveyard and rather pretty). i don’t go too often, since i don’t feel the need (her spirit seems to be with me - her memory certainly is, always), but something made me want to go today. i was there about an hour before sunset, on a bright sunny day, and there was a quality to the light that was just magical. i had my little camera with me since i was planning on visiting the pond out back, but took a few photos there. i don’t think it will translate that well on to computer, and won’t be sharing the actual pics, but i am definitely going to the pond tomorrow at the same time to see what i can get that will be sharable (if that’s a word).
and now, toon time!
Dry i hadn’t noticed the typo, but it sure landed in the right spot, didn’t it! (i usually proofread before i hit post to make sure i say what i mean to say and don’t misspell words.)
Carmy!? its a blast!!!! oh you have to try it!!! can your roller blade (sp)? its so much better then that. its amazing you move so much faster and smoother and its like flying. i love ice skating.
Dry i could have written it that way on purpose, i just didn’t think it would be funny enough for the Tribe if i did.
as for the skaters in the group, i spent almost 4 decades on skates every winter, and would still be at it if my arthritic knees hadn’t had a different idea about it.
and i almost forgot the karma deposit for today.
Carmy if we ever get together somehow we are going ice skating. I am taking you. ill hold you up so you wont fall and let you stand by the wall. its fun and if you use the wall you wont fall, then you get brave and let go like i did.
for that (the ice skating party) i would take my skates down from the wall (the standard reference to retiring from the game being “to hang up your skates”) and help hold up both Carmy & Tabby or anyone else who needs help.
Yguy we used to go every friday night, and i had gotten so good. i was racing it was a blast. oh good times good times, why did i have to go and mess up my ankles?
Dry come on, i didnt break something and you know how much of a klutzs i am. you wont break anything, if you do ill take you to the ER i know a good one. lol
@Dry & Carmy the nieces and nephews do, indeed love me (to the point that in their “little kid” days i was never referred to by name. i was always just “Uncle” to them, despite being one of four uncles they had). as a childless bachelor, they’ve always been special to me and they know it. (and sorry, i’m not in the market for any more - though as they get themselves married i’ll pick up more.)
as for being a teddy bear, guilty with an explanation. to paraphrase Mr. Spock of Star Trek, a live teddy bear - with fangs! (don’t forget i’m also part polar bear and part grizzly bear.)
i made up my mind very early on that i would try to have as much fun with the kids as possible. which lead to such wonderful games as “let’s see how much we can scare your Mom with out ever getting you in any real danger” - a favourite of all of them.
it’s played by climbing in trees, or on other relatively tall objects, until you reach a height that your Mother thinks is “too high” and then going on higher (with help and encouragement from Uncle). as an alternative, you can choose another activity that has an equal “danger” potential. for toddler aged nieces and nephews it was climbing up to stand on Uncle’s shoulders without holding on to anything else (though i always had a firm grip on their legs the whole time). strangely, my brother liked this game until his little girl was born. at that point, he didn’t seem to want to play it any more - though he never stopped me from playing. (and HE was the one who had his picture taken on the roof of the house with both pre-school aged nephews in his arms.)

COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Good Morning Rmom.
Bundle up for that work outside!
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Good Morning Rmom. Terry is it unusual for it to be as cold as it is where you live? That sounds colder than I would have thought that it would get there.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Cleo, January temps average about 25 degrees during the day and about 10-15 at night. But temps in the single digits for a week or so is not uncommon.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Next week it’ll be around 30 degrees for highs. A heatwave!
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
January & February are our coldest months and we see 2 or three good freezes each year. Occasionally it goes into March.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
I need to start getting ready for pool here. Playoff week for Saturdays. We are only a wild card though, so we have a tougher playoff schedule.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Thanks Doc
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Good luck Terry.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
So Doc do you have big plans for today?
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Thank you Cleo

johnnydoc5 almost 15 years ago
Good morning all!
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
i am showered, but still wondering if im awake or not
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Have fun at pool, Terry! Good morning, johnny & tabby!
I’m back inside where it’s warm, but it is now up to 6 F outside. I bundled up so well, that towards the very end, I started sweating. Probably because my job involved walking & fire.
johnnydoc5 almost 15 years ago
I am wondering if I am awake or not too.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
we will be going to the store soon and he decieds this when i have a wet head from just getting out the shower. how nice of dad. maybe ill get food somehow. hope so i want a hamburger.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
i am up, but kind of upset. but its all good.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
time to go bbl
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
After I was outside “playing” with fire, I came in and took a shower. Between the sweating and the smoke smell, it is a good feeling to be clean again! I’ve got inside work to do now, so I’ll be off & on for the rest of the day.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Hi johnnyd & Tabby.
I have got to spend the day outside today it is so beautiful out.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Cleo - You just have to rub it in, don’t ya?
johnnydoc5 almost 15 years ago
Cleo, it is actually a gorgeous day here too, but I have to go to work. Rmom, sorry about your weather.
The Duke 1 almost 15 years ago
DocT, is it true your are what you eat? Then the stuff below might explain a few things….like love of snow & cold!! SNERK!!
Doctor ToonGenius_badge said, about 16 hours ago
Fortunately, the junk food I like isn’t the worst stuff. I’m a cracker-a-holic, I can eat a whole box after eating what most people would consider a full meal. The way I love crackers, breads, and other grain based foods I should have been a horse.
Quabaculta almost 15 years ago
Thanks for the wonderful Karma last Sunday. I just heard from my cc company they are extending the ASSIST program for us. With that and the Employment Commission getting my hubby’s unemployment straight and catching us up I can breath a moment. Not long…but a moment.
Chili smells good. Got to eat, shower and go out on my Saturday rounds. Ya’ll take care and stay warm!
Oh, the temperature is finally 34F, and that’s about as high as it’s gonna get. I better start saving for the electric bill, the heater’s gonna kill us!
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Quaby - You’re right about the heating bill. My mom’s house is heated with natural gas. This month’s bill is $125, and the month before was $53. Considering that for most of the time this month, the thermostat has been turned down about 10 degrees from what it was before she died, that is some increase!
MissNaomi385 almost 15 years ago
Good afternoon everybody.
Poor Wink.
(ROTFLMAO)
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Good afternoon, Naomi. It seems to be quite quiet under the BT today, but that happens on Saturdays.
MissNaomi385 almost 15 years ago
Sorry about buzzing out. being a pet groomer keeps me quite busy.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
I’m doing various tasks inside my house, so I’m off & on myself.
MissNaomi385 almost 15 years ago
My profession is grooming dogs,
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
It seems like Saturdays would be busy for a dog groomer.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
okay so i got a call made my day, she told me to call when i got home and go over, well i have called 2 times an hour apart like she said to do. and no answer. Ana is ready to go also she misses her. im all frustrated again. sigh im to emotional!!!
MissNaomi385 almost 15 years ago

MissNaomi385 almost 15 years ago
Tabby Lynn you must be a very caring person. Bless you.
MissNaomi385 almost 15 years ago
Rmom, you would think so, well some saturdays are busier than others. Today is just not one of those days.
Must be the cold weather.

@Tabby: do you ever play on Pogo anymore?
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
Cleo so um… we were in the store and i passed by a section and all i could do was laugh i truly laughed out loud. guess what i smelt…..

tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
Saucy i just played a game on it a min ago. im just not in the mood to play lately
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Hello Everyone
I’m back from pool. We lost the matches. I didn’t even get to play.
MissNaomi385 almost 15 years ago
That’s quite a bummer Lonewolf.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
my head is about to explode!! grr.
MissNaomi385 almost 15 years ago
Thanks for the warning Tabby, I’ll be sure to take cover.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Hello Naomi385–Yes it is a bummer.
MissNaomi385 almost 15 years ago
I’ve seen guys play pool in the sports bar that my husband and I go to sometimes. Me-well I’ve never learned how to play the game.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Leagues are a lot of fun. You play by skill level so it somewhat evens out even if you are not highly skilled at it.
MissNaomi385 almost 15 years ago
Maybe one of these days I’ll learn the game. I need to find a babysitter that can tolerate two little hellions first.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
I hear you. Been there done that!

Plus, I figure if it is in the basement, it would be a great piece of furniture to climb under in case of a tornado!
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
HI SHIKA!
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
MissNaomi385 almost 15 years ago
I hear you Rmom, That’s one big dog.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
What’s up Shika?
Rmom–I really enjoy pool but Wolfangil says I play too serious for her liking.
MissNaomi385 almost 15 years ago

cleokaya almost 15 years ago
We just got back and it felt so good to be in the fresh bay air.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
pizza here bbl

Hey Doc, our paper has been full of really nasty local news as well. Yesterday a domestic dispute ended with a man shooting and wounding his wife. He killed her 14 year old daughter and himself. He was a local planning comissioner and I had actually seen him around over the years.
johnnydoc5 almost 15 years ago
Good evening all. Just got out of work, and now I can enjoy a quiet evening of football watching. It will be good for me, I think.
johnnydoc5 almost 15 years ago
Good evening Doc, what’s up?
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Hello johnnyd, how has your Saturday been?
Doc I think there is more violence because people are feeling more stress from lack of jobs and shortness of money. And some people just can’t seem to control their tempers.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Cleo sounds like you had a lovely day! Mine was busy but all of it was work, work, work!
doc the Grabby Girls heard that! ;-D Here we come!
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
The bad part is all the stuff I’m dragging home, and needing to find places for here.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Good Evening Dry. I just noticed that Doc’s avatar looks like his reaction might be if you sneaked up and pinched his heiny.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Yes Cleo, I noticed that too! LOL!
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Terry - I used to have an advantage when I played pool on a regular basis. I would play at a certain tavern, but they only served 3.2 beer. I never liked the taste of beer well enough to get even tipsy, so I was sober and played against people who weren’t. It was fairly cheap entertainment for me, drinking either water or Coke, and games were a quarter a piece, with the challenger paying for the game. I liked winning, but my ego wasn’t hurt if I didn’t. If a guy was a sore loser, I knew I didn’t want to date him, so it served to help screen out the abusive type guys.
johnnydoc5 almost 15 years ago
Have fun Doc! Cleo, today has been miserable. My friends and I had a little too much fun last night. I had to work today, and felt absolutely terrible. I feel better now, and that is why we are having a nice quiet night tonight.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
Pizza was good. Domino’s changed the pizza all together it was great! the sauce is spicy but not to spicy. it has better crust. its greatness
Quabaculta almost 15 years ago
Hi Tribe
I SOLD FOUR (4) EARRINGS!!!!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Tabby I don’t think our Domino’s has changed their sauce, and they never put enough toppings on. I miss their old subs and salads, but I do like the new sandwiches they have, they just aren’t big enough for me! :-) Oh and I love their hot wings!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Quaby did you cook it in the slow cooker? If you have a bottle of hot sauce, or jalapenos on hand, I’ll have some, please.
carmy almost 15 years ago
I have yet to find a place that serves up good pizza like they do in Chicago. I should learn to make my own some day soon. Hello All!
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
johnny sometimes fun has it’s drawbacks. Take for instance when Dry & JFri partake of my Booker’s. They have the fun (involving painting under the influence) and I pay for it the next day.
Quaby congrats on the sale. Your chili sounds perfect for a Saturday evening.
carmy almost 15 years ago
Dry, I’m surprised you don’t spit fire with all that hot stuff you like to consume. Hey, there’s a thought! Have some more hot stuff and breathe fire on the trolls that continue to plague us here. I’ll back you up with my machetes.
carmy almost 15 years ago
Quaby, I’m happy that things are going well for you. I pray that they continue to do so.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Congratulations, Quaby!
johnnydoc5 almost 15 years ago
Oh yeah there are drawbacks. None of us felt good today. I think we will tone it down in the future. As for damage to personal property, we always end up at a place that isn’t mine to drink. I like that system.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
dry and Carmy sorry i ran off on you two. Ana and myself had a bit of a disargreement shes bathing again shes tired. Tabby is wining this fight shes ready for bed at 8 lately. :D i feel good.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
That’s a good system johnnyd unless you are driving. It is best to have a way to get home that doesn’t include driving after drinking. The New Years before this last one, we had a few people over and had them all spend the night. It was fun, nobody drank a lot, but everybody could relax and enjoy the evening without thoughts of driving home.
Quabaculta almost 15 years ago
Dry hot sauce and jalepenos are now on the table. Hubby has halabano sauce (the hottest stuff), so I will mark that one as HOT in bold letters and get it on the table.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Quaby Habanero sauce? I shall have that! I love it! I grow my own habaneros in the summer, and it’s worth the rubber gloves and tears and sneezing as I clean them!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Oh Cleo LOL!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Carmy I can spit fire when needed, why do you think I eat so many hot peppers? It’s like fueling up your car with gasoline! ;-)
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
bbs bath out maybe if im lucky with no fight
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
I like hot ladies. Bring on the habaneros for me as well.
johnnydoc5 almost 15 years ago
Cleo, we wouldn’t think driving, we don’t have to in Ann Arbor, we can walk anywhere. And there are free buses and taxis for students.
carmy almost 15 years ago
Dry, keep your fire handy then. I saw a troll here earlier, it’s gone for now, but if some people keep feeding it, it will be back.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
What a great system johnnyd. I think it is nice when a city supports it’s students by offering free transportation for students.
carmy almost 15 years ago
Cleo, I agree with you on that. Johnny, that is a wonderful thing that they got with the free rides for the students.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Habaneros and trolls, what great additions to chili.
carmy almost 15 years ago
LMBO, Cleo!
johnnydoc5 almost 15 years ago
I like habaneros. But my stomach wouldn’t like me if I had any today. It is a nice system for Ann Arbor, but that is a compact city, Grand Rapids, the city I grew up in, is very spread out, so buses don’t work well there. Have to use a DD.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Carmy what’s not to like hot & bitter.

Johnny, I spent a summer in Austin Texas, very close to the Univ. of Texas area. I noticed that they had a lot places that were walking distance too. My fav was a place that had an indoor/outdoor pub with dollar pitchers and tasty nachos.

Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Cleo why don’t you and I make a batch of Habanero pepper jam next summer? Goes great with seafood and any meat! And is tasty on lunch meat sandwiches too!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I haven’t been to a bar in years, but I know in restaurants, drinks are really expensive. But if I’m out having a good meal, it’s worth the price if you are enjoying the evening.

evening Tribefolks. been out and about all day, and just got home in time to watch the hockey game. now that it’s over (Leafs lost again sigh) i’ve come here to catch up again. congrats to *Quaby on the earring sales (i’m sure every bit helps). Dry if you are breathing fire because of all the spicy foods, would that make you a “dragon lady” of some sort? we’d make a rather odd menagerie, the group of us, what with people who are doggish, catlike, wolves, dragons, and a part polar bear like me.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
Carmy same here, its in the 20s as well here. it was 32 all bleeep day without the wind chill.
Dry and jfri hows your weather?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Hi yyyguy! I have always loved hot and spicy foods! I’m half Italian and all our big Sunday family gatherings at the noon meal had some sort of Hot Peppers involved. I guess that’s not an Italian thing, really, but it was in my family!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Tabby I was referring to the jalapenos, but the hot buttered rum works too! :-D
yyyguy almost 15 years ago
DocT & cleo were wondering about violence and mental illness earlier - whether it was more prevalent recently or just garnered more coverage because of media saturation. i’d like to weigh in on the side of more coverage by media making it seem more common, but i’d also like to note that improved diagnostic ability gets people who used to be thought of as criminals, properly referred to as ill, now. i saw parts of a show on CBC about a young girl who had a mental illness which caused her to be put into juvenile detention and, later, into the prison system where she eventually suicided - all because she never got the help she needed. in any event, it’s sad.

Hi Shika, Goodnight Shika!
yyyguy almost 15 years ago
i saw a recipe in a magazine for hot buttered rum. looks almost like it should be an egg nog kind of consistency to it, but it is definitely a drink Tabby. i’ve fixed myself a nice glass of whisky on the rocks to sip at while i type. if my leeters start to get slurred, you know the reason why.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
Hi shika and goodnight sweet sister. sleep well.

Hi Shika, bye Shika!
Did I say hi to Carmy yet? I HOPE SO! HI CARMY!
yyyguy almost 15 years ago
good night Shika high today was mid teens Fahrenheit. tomorrow should be around mid twenties. one of the things i did today was visit Mom’s grave (which is in a country graveyard and rather pretty). i don’t go too often, since i don’t feel the need (her spirit seems to be with me - her memory certainly is, always), but something made me want to go today. i was there about an hour before sunset, on a bright sunny day, and there was a quality to the light that was just magical. i had my little camera with me since i was planning on visiting the pond out back, but took a few photos there. i don’t think it will translate that well on to computer, and won’t be sharing the actual pics, but i am definitely going to the pond tomorrow at the same time to see what i can get that will be sharable (if that’s a word). and now, toon time!

yyyguy You are such a teddy bear! Always giving out hugs! No wonder your neices and nephews love you!
carmy almost 15 years ago
Do you need another niece, yyyguy?
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
Carmy if we ever get together somehow we are going ice skating. I am taking you. ill hold you up so you wont fall and let you stand by the wall. its fun and if you use the wall you wont fall, then you get brave and let go like i did.

im cold. house is over ana is sleeping my bed is calling. its almost time.

for that (the ice skating party) i would take my skates down from the wall (the standard reference to retiring from the game being “to hang up your skates”) and help hold up both Carmy & Tabby or anyone else who needs help.

@Dry & Carmy the nieces and nephews do, indeed love me (to the point that in their “little kid” days i was never referred to by name. i was always just “Uncle” to them, despite being one of four uncles they had). as a childless bachelor, they’ve always been special to me and they know it. (and sorry, i’m not in the market for any more - though as they get themselves married i’ll pick up more.) as for being a teddy bear, guilty with an explanation. to paraphrase Mr. Spock of Star Trek, a live teddy bear - with fangs! (don’t forget i’m also part polar bear and part grizzly bear.)

yyyguy, your nieces and nephews are indeed lucky to have such a kind and loving Uncle!
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
Yguy yes i agree with Carmy

i made up my mind very early on that i would try to have as much fun with the kids as possible. which lead to such wonderful games as “let’s see how much we can scare your Mom with out ever getting you in any real danger” - a favourite of all of them.

the whole family knows i’m just a big overgrown kid anyway, so it works just fine.
yyyguy almost 15 years ago

tabbylynn almost 15 years ago

it’s played by climbing in trees, or on other relatively tall objects, until you reach a height that your Mother thinks is “too high” and then going on higher (with help and encouragement from Uncle). as an alternative, you can choose another activity that has an equal “danger” potential. for toddler aged nieces and nephews it was climbing up to stand on Uncle’s shoulders without holding on to anything else (though i always had a firm grip on their legs the whole time). strangely, my brother liked this game until his little girl was born. at that point, he didn’t seem to want to play it any more - though he never stopped me from playing. (and HE was the one who had his picture taken on the roof of the house with both pre-school aged nephews in his arms.)
