Wow! This is an awkward situation…….Okay let me see here (escaped convict returns home to see his honey in bed with another man, who is probably a hotshot banker.) This does not bode well for someone here.

And since a shovel is in the picture. It appears that somebody here will be digging their own grave.

@ Joe-Allen sorry, sir, but you are mistaken. spades have square edges, normal shovels are shaped like in the picture. in any event, since a spade is a specific type of shovel, it would still be correct to call a spade a shovel.

Shovels can be flat edged too, but the sides are usually curled for scooping.

He doesn’t see the other guy in bed - he’s still suffering from tunnel vision…

Do a Google image search of “shovel”. A lot of people sure think differently, including many companies who sell them. You’d think they’d know better.

And I guess those big machines are misnamed. They should be steam spades rather than steam shovels. And they’re using them wrong when they dig with them.
