I think he picked the wrong brand. I used to own a Volvo 240 wagon (‘70s or ’80s?), and I had to replace the front parking light assembly. I called a junk yard, and they didn’t ask what year it was – they asked whether it was the white or amber color. Because otherwise, the same part was interchangeable over pretty much the life of the model series.
Oh god – we had one of these dreadful cars (actually, the v40 wagon), and the cup-holder broke CONSTANTLY. We must have gone through six of them before the warranty expired and we dumped the car.
