I’m at peace with the postal experience. We send a lot of packages and letters from the east coast to grandchildren in Alaska. What a deal! Birthday cards all that way for $.55. Packages are a bargain also.
Count your blessings. USPS is pretty good. My daughter lives in Hungary. Send packages, forget it. If they dont disappear at the PO, you have to “pay” extra (i.e. bribe) the person at the counter to get them. We sent Christmas cards in early October one year, one of two showed up at Easter. Most of the time, they just disappear.
I now live in a town of 6000. Most times there are only one or two people in either place, and I’m in and out in just a few minutes. When , I lived in an area where there was a million plus, I would block out a half day; especially for the DMV.
There are 2 Post offices in my town. If a package/letter for us goes to the “wrong” PO, they don’t send it to the correct one. No, they deliver it to an address that only matches ours in the house number and the first letter of the street name.
LOL! So true! I am going to the grocery store and braving the Lottery line rather than go to the Post Office now that I need more stamps! The vending machine is ALWAYS broken at the P.O. and the two workers seem to enjoy just either wandering into the back aimlessly or staring at their screens while the line grows ever larger….
It MIGHT be a “Vermont thing,” but, it’s not a VermontER thing. A real Vermonter’s stress level borders on comatose…. this more pertains to a transplant.

Burlington? You haven’t had your patience challenged until you tried a 112– post office.

Where’s the hate coming from? Both our post office and DMV provide great service.
