I was packing for a trip, including several paperbacks, and had to run to the store. When I returned, the cat was sleeping in my unfinished suitcase and one of my dogs had digested a book. No piece of an entire book was any larger than an inch. Very impressive! Pets do have ways of telling us they want us home with them. It was also a library book.

He reads his library a lot. That’s why it looks so dog-eared.

You’d think a dog would gravitate more toward Jack London, y’know?
