You just wait until we get to the “tummy rub” portion of our therapy. We’ll see who’s a good doggie then. In the meantime, I’m prescribing two dog treats daily to help calm your nerves.
I think the dog is a latent therapy dog. The therapist is looking happy. I have seen that look many times with my therapy dog, people just can’t resist. The bad part of having a certified therapy dog – there is no “off” button. Walks can be constantly disrupted, including offering therapy to landscapers, trash collectors, and random strangers out walking. Luckily most find it cute. I apologize a lot. So yes, the tummy rub is coming next. I see a natural therapy dog who doesn’t want to be one, finding it offensive.

If you must pet, make sure it’s hands’-free
