By coincidence, something similar to Oliver’s dilemma and solution occurred at Dilbert this week with Alice….

Physcial force never worked, but I remember as late as late Windows 95 (not tryingt to dig on Windows, this was more of a programmer issue), if you clicked fast enough on some programs you could get around the password prompt.

Another little known maintenance technique “TAPT&DNE” Take Apart, Put Together, and Do Nothing Else works when all else fails many times. Computer geeks call this ‘resetting the SIMM module’ to make it sound ‘complicated’ but really, it is just TAPT&DNE. I developed this technique during the 1970s while working as a tech at a TV station BTW …

Maybe a pound on the “head” was Weinberger’s actual password.

PS: Why are Oliver’s arms white?

I myself prefer a claw hammer - sideways of course (and never on the monitor itself!

Sherlock,: Oliver is the true example of diversity [or whoever inked in the strip is nearsighted].

That was the way we fixed everything back then. A strategic whap, and all was well again. Especially when the TV went out of whack.

Someone should go to Washington and pound them all in the head for real. if they shove this commiecare tax package on us, It will be minutes before the pounding begins.

NOTE: I didn’t say I was going to do it.

This strip was done over 20 years ago, times change, but computer nature stays the same

What was Weinberger’s first name, and what color was he? Not Weinbergewr, but the character his first name represents.

Remember: when applying blunt force adjustment (BFA) to your sensitive electronic devices; WHAM is vertically (on top), WHAP is horizontal (up side). Some people use a framing hammer for this but a simple rolled up magazine will suffice and cause less long term external damage. -word up- OWJs method may break your hand and make u look really dumb at the ER
