    Perhaps he found Timothy Leary somewhere Out There, On The Outside Looking In…

    Thanks, Carl! Thanks for the glimpses of just how marvelous our Universe can be, like This. Bookmark that one for your daily fix of awesomeness!

    one of the few TV productions we watched regularly. I think he opened a lot of eyes/minds with his show.

    This is what boggles my mind–

    The universe is expanding. But it has no center. I can picture it using the loaf of rising poppy seed bread metaphor, but for some reason I can’t scale it up to universe size. Yeah, I’ve seen Cosmos, I’ve read all the books, I’ve even taken a couple astronomy classes. I still can’t wrap my head around it.

    The universe is expanding, but it has no center. Come on, the universe HAS to have a center somewhere! It started from a single point! Yes, but that point is now everywhere. It’s not over there (pointing), or over there (pointing in a different direction). It’s everywhere. The point isn’t the center, it’s the whole universe.

    Aaaugh!

    Plain chocolate chip cookies aren’t going to do it for me. I need warm chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream for this one.

    @rob—totally awesome!!!!

    I’m afraid that my need for comfort is much greater now. I think I’ll re-read Job and have some chocolate cake with caramel icing and topped with moose tracks ice cream. I guess I really feel small now.

    It’s a wonder that Captain Kirk didn’t ever need a teddy bear.
