Kirkpatrick was associated with almost all sides of the political spectrum: starting as a socialist before aligning with Democrats but kind of gravitating toward hawkish Democrats like Henry “Scoop” Jackson and then finally neoconservatism and a place in Teflon Ron’s cabinet in the 1980s as a Democrat and spoke as one at the Repubba’s ’84 convention before flipping to the Republicans officially in 1985.

BB always did love to pick on Jeane Kirkpatrick back in the day for some strange reason.
