When I started my first job out of college in the early 90’s, there was a Maintenance Supervisor who had been a “heck”-raiser his whole life but became very religious. As part of his conversion, he completely quit any form swearing. This would result in the bizarre sight of a big, burly, angry dude yelling at someone that he was “…sick and tired of putting up with your darn poop.”I took panel 4, cropped Steve out and enlarged it (via a photo copier and white-out because it was the old days) and hung it on his door as a gag. The guy liked it so much he framed it and hung it there permanently.

A few decades later, there was a heavy metal version of this song by the (appropriately named) band Disturbance that was awesome.

Maybe if Rosebud had gone with “The Boxer” instead…

Little did Berke know that Disturbed would come along in 2015…

This is even better since Disturbed did a better cover of that song than the S&G version.

This is the first attempt to do the cover like Disturbed did

Perhaps the slacks can be returned.

Yeah. Well, that’s how it goes, Rosebud. Basselopes are just not the heavy-metal rocker type, ya know?
As Edie Brickell (before Paul Simon pretty much squashed her career after they married) said, What I am is what I am….
