This is so sad. Brings back a lot of feelings. I miss my departed pets so much, even today. And two of my dogs have been gone for over 20 years. But they lived to be 16 and 17, so I was lucky.
I think that the reason pets have shorter lives than humans is God’s solution to teaching and adapting young minds to the concept of death and grieving as well as its inevitability. Indeed, they do become cherished and loved members of the family.
