Eight years ago my wife found “on-line” a dog in a shelter 400 miles from here. After our two dogs had died I didn’t want another, but she did. She asked if she could fill out an application, and I said, “Sure, go ahead.” I’d dealt with applications before and there was no way I was going to jump through all the hoops they require before they approve your application. Well…..it being a Sunday afternoon, I was shocked to find we were approved 30 minutes later. “Oh %$#&!” Going forward two weeks and spending over $500, we now found ourselves with beautiful dog. Also, It was about that time I discovered my wife’s cousin was an annual benefactor of the shelter and her name had been used as a reference. Of course our application was approved! I’d been scammed and the fix was in. Casey is now eight years old. He’s part Aussie Shepard and Great Pyrenees and loves the cold weather here in northernmost Maine.
