Listen to Christmas muzak for long enough and you end up arguing with the songs, after a few weeks, when the lyrics would say “this little song of mine in 3-quarters time…” I’d say (out loud, yes, I am embarrassed) “shut up!!! You’re singing in 4/4!!!”
I have to admit, I hate that song. But I hate so many of them that I just don’t listen anymore. Fortunately, it seems more and more stations are toning down on the winter/secularchristmas/Christmas songs this year.
If I never hear “Winter Wonderland” again it will be too soon. I really would like to hear the true Christmas hymns, the ones about Jesus, whose birthday we’re celebrating after all.
I took a room on Times Square one New Years Eve. “The Little Drummer Boy” played from some electronics shop til Jan 3rd. I can’t stand that song or that holiday since.
Dave Berry put together a book from some of his columns called “Dave Berry’s Book of Bad Songs” which lists his reader’s votes for the worst songs ever … very funny. It’s a small book and would make a great stocking stuffer … just sayin’.

About 45 minutes of Bob Rivers will cure that.

So it’s cold in Heaven? Geeze, fry or freeze. What a choice.
