I would never think of teaching my child to drive myself – what, all the trouble of getting a teacher’s licence and then letting them wreck my car? I would just sign them up to some professional teacher. And save my own time, nerves and money in the process.
Way before I was old enough to drive, neighbor’s son put the car through the garage door (pulling into the driveway). My mom never forgot it. The first time I pulled into the drive, she yelled stop when I was still 10 feet away from the door (still blocking the sidewalk).
