Caesar: It just occurred to me what was so particularly cruel about the September 11 attacks. Huey: Which was? Caesar: The least they could have done was drop food for us while they attacked, like we did for them! I mean, what, we don't get hungry? Huey: Savages. Caesar: They couldn'ta hooked a bruva up with some lamb kabob or sumthin'?
As one who was surrounded by that ash/debris cloud, I think this joke is cruel. But as one who was surrounded by even larger cloud of war clamor the following year or two, I think the truth of what America did is far crueler than this joke. At least Ceasar is being the same old practical Ceasar as always - mainly, an observant and good-hearted kid.
