Riley: Let me get this straight. So let's say I blow up, like, extra-large, right? I'm doin' my thang, I'm takin' care of bidness, knaamean... The cheddar is rowin' lovely... right? I got the watch flooded, the Benz wit' the chromey wheels, ya heard... Huey: (Sigh) uh-huh... Riley: ... So I'm chillin', you know, bling-blingin', right? Let's say I'm makin' six, maybe seven figures. Huey: Yes? Riley: You mean the government can just roll up and take some of my money - for no reason?! Huey: Oh yeah. Maybe a third, maybe even more. Riley: But that's like robbery! And they do it to everybody?!! Huey: More or less. Now don't you want to fight the government? Riley: Are you nuts?! Shoot, I wanna be the government. Hey, how much of the stolen loot goes to the president?
“FOR NO REASON?!” I get that taxes are very often unfairly burdensome to the people who can least afford it, but taxes pay for services and physical infrastructure we need.
