    He could just as easily have said, “Since you’re a banker, I’ve decided to drop the charges.” And the bankers’ crimes rob people of a whole lot more.

    Actually, it’s politicians who get off, or not even charged with crimes. Celebrities get multiple “chances and rehab/probation”. Everyone else – right to the slammer.

    They do it right in Finland. Your traffic fines are base on net income after taxes. A $200,000 fine is not unheard of.
