It should be noted that might be as close to Santa as anyone will get this year. Sad.

Some Walmarts didn’t even wait until the end of Halloween to start putting up Christmas stuff.

Here in Boston, stores began selling Christmas stuff BEFORE Halloween.

I wonder when kids will start asking: “What was it like before the Pandemic, Dad?”.

I have already put out some Christmas decorations. They cheer me up and help me feel more optimistic about life in general.

Meijer had Xmas things out before Halloween. Takes some of the fun out of the season.

I was in my local Christmas Tree Shops unit on Sunday. Amazingly, they had plenty o’ non-Xmas merch on display.

We’ve had a holiday baking display set up at the grocery store where I work for weeks

Management came in early November first to set up Christmas displays

The worst part, for me, is that they put Christmas up so early, but take it down on Christmas day. People forget that the 12 days of Christmas are not a count down to Christmas, but a count up to Epiphany.

Many decades ago, stores did not put out Christmas stuff until the day after Thanksgiving. A friend of mine worked at a local mall and would hire people to work Thanksgiving to put up all the decorations. We were paid $10/hr which back in the 70s was great money. It was also cash and off the books. We busted our butts though to get everything done in one day.

I went on our local community Facebook page and urged people to leave their Halloween decorations up longer, in hopes to keep Christmas at bay. I have nothing against Christmas, but 2 whole months of it are a bit too much for me.

The next town over is a high tourist area. There is a city ordinance that all businesses must ave their Christmas decorations in place by Nov. 1. To me, it is still Autumn and Thanksgiving season. Pumpkins and leaf decoration will stay up for at least 3.5 more weeks!

You should go to Disneyland the Monday after Halloween.(Well, wouldn’t you want to celebrate Halloween in Disneyland for a few days longer?)
