1 Okay, Bozo’s figured out what he wants for Christmas.
2 Umbrella Guy is busy reporting Bozo’s indiscretion to Santa.
3 Not sure but I think I spotted Umbrella Guy next to the chimney in panel 2…or it might be Santa Claus. (Had to zoom in to the limit but someone’s there.)
Mr. Reardon. In strip #3 three of the portraits look more than generic. Do you recognized them as real people?
Also, you stated Bozann’s name was Bozann. Of course, I recognize you as the final authority. Was that revealed in a strip I missed/forgotten or in a strip yet to come? Or.. from your father’s notes, like that?
Also, thanks for interacting with the comments and commenters. It’s really nice of you.
Usually I find the “story” and joke portrayed in each Bozo strip very easy to follow. Not for the 23 December one, though. My best guess: Bozann, in her bedroom late at night, can be seen by Bozo through his window across the street. Assuming she is about to undress, and a gentleman, he quickly looks away and tries to close the window shade, which falls off the window and crushes a box of candy intended as a Christmas present. Here’s where I get lost — at the instant the shade goes “plunk,” Bozann appears at Bozo’s open door. She is angry (assuming he was peeping?) and he is chagrined and/or embarrassed. Or are they both living in the same house, as in the next strip (different bed, though), and she rushed into the living room upset to see the damage he caused? What am I missing?

Occasionally GoComics gives us other good examples of pantomime comics. See today’s Red and Rover for example.

1) What does our intrepid Bozo want today? He looks but isn’t yet satisfied.
2) At home he finds a wrapped gift. He closes a sash that falls with a loud noise. “Crunk!” Embarrasses him.
3) Xmas night, Bozo sees his sock doesn’t match Bozann’s so he takes one of her’s drying and puts it on the other side of the fire place!
