Susan Barrett and I two of those crazies you are all talking about. It’s not always easy and it’s never cheap. Case in point: last summer, when the temps were in the low to mid 100s she spent several days crawling around inside of a big houseboat that was abandoned on somebody’s property to rescue a momcat and her babies. We have no idea how long they had been without food or water but they were bad shape. Each time she found a kitten, she brought it to me. Around here, people move out of trailers and leave them full of trash, garbage and cats and kittens. As soon as she finds out about them, she’s in there looking for them. We envy places like Boulder CO. It’s such a huge animal friendly place. It’s just the opposite here. Finally, to give her the props she deserves, she was recently named Volunteer of the Year for the state of Utahs ’Animal Control Officers Association.
