Pucky in Suite 6 stat! I just spit my coffee all over my desk. Oh, what a great laugh this morning, Georgia. Thank you!! My Lexi does the same thing if I have butter on my hands. She’s been known to plunk her paw down on my hand if I dare move <3
What a hoot! It’s odd how sometimes they smell something on your hands and simply must get it off, while at other times they shy away—and you can never figure out one or the other, and it’s different for different cats. Just another ploy to keep us confused (ham, yes; bacon, no).
I make our own hairball remedy because our guys won’t touch any of the commercial goop: a mix of powdered, freeze-dried salmon or other fish, petrolatum, and a touch of butter. Must be refrigerated. Very sticky—but they are very good at getting it off your hands—no matter how long it takes.
One of my girls licks just one side of my face every day. But I used to have cats loved sweet iced tea and would do whatever it took to get it. It is because of them that I had to put a waterproof mattress pad on my bed. One of my boys would occasionally stick his head in my tea glass on the bedside table and knock the whole thing onto the bed. It only took once for this to happen for me to remedy that and get a mattress pad since the cat wasn’t going to stop. Knocked over glass aside I miss that cat.

So much People-suffering from the hurricanes of the last few weeks, but a little good news about our four-legged (and seven-toed) friends is always welcome.
After I “groom” my cat by scratching his chin area thoroughly, he insists on returning the favor until I insist he stop. Those rough little tongues are rough enough to scrape marrow out of bones.

Okay, is Puck licking the coffee smell because he likes it, or is he trying to lick her hand clean of that awful coffee smell?

She should rub her hands with bacon grease.

LOVE the M’lady! Like the color of your ring in panel 3, is that the same color as your real engagement ring?

Oh, Puck, she smells like coffee because she is drinking coffee.

My black cat Nikki used to do this same thing! She’d pin my arm down and thoroughly exfoliate it. I miss my little sweetie.

My Maine coon Pepper kisses me most frequently after I eat cheetos. Fortunately he is red so my husband doesn’t see the evidence.

We had a cat who was a compulsive groomer. The other cats, the humans, it didn’t matter, you were getting a bath.

My dog does this incessantly. She won’t stop, especially after I go running
