This is one of my favorite parts of this Holiday Special, so, I stayed up late just so I could read this before going to sleep and dream of Elvis being a good boy!! Good morning everyone, hope your day is exceptional! hugs and love to you all!
The facial expressions through today’s strip are awesome. Elvis so happy in the first panel progressing to sadness and regret then proudly defiant to “be a good boy” :)
Dang. I want this Christmas arc as a poster. Or a book. Or an ebook. A book about 4″×8″, one strip per page so I can feast my eyes on the deliciousness of Ms. Dunn’s watercolors.
Lupin with the exclamation point over his head reminds me of a future female “Our IX Lives” character. Lupin’s reaction seems uncharacteristic of our cat of adventure, but of course, this is Elvis’ story and moment. Good Saturday morning to all!
Earlier this year (either in the spring or summer, and before my sister moved to Idaho to be near her daughter), my sister called me when I was out and left a message on my answering machine saying that she had something important to discuss with me and asking me to come by.
When I got to her place, she had forgotten what she had wanted to talk to me about, so we just visited for awhile.
Then she asked me if there was anything of hers that I would like to have. I told her that anything she had that I might want should go to her daughter. Then I spotted her “T” bar leaning against the wall beside her couch. I knew that her daughter didn’t care for it, so I told her that I would take that. This pleased her, and she told me to take it right then and there. It is resting against the wall in my living room now.
Background: When I was 8, my family moved into a house in Douglas, Alaska. Not far from where we lived was the remains of an old mining town called Treadwell. Most of the buildings there were ruined (and some were not safe to go into), but there were items that could still be found. I remember finding a green glass bottle that was in perfect condition which I gave to my Dad.
One thing my sister found was an old “T” bar from the mine. She kept that thing from when she found it as a youth until she gave it to me.
My sister was a “butterfly” (always traveling from place to place) and she had kept it through all of her travels, so it was important to her, and she was glad that it would have a home where it was appreciated. I suspect that her daughter would have just thrown it out if I hadn’t taken it.
Never expect people who proclaim they love the series to have actually READ the series. They can spend all day and then some on commenting but they will not read the series from the beginning. Oh, well. :/
My dear, beloved orbster buddies! Once again I implore you to please, please, PLEASE not respond to things you don’t like! Flag ‘em too, if you want to be clear about your feelings. If today’s newbie IS a troll, you gave him/her exactly what he/her wanted. If not, then a potential orbster got a very unhappy reception to unintentional excess enthusiasm! I cringe at that. What would Tommy do?
I remember when I used to let slip too much. Gee, I still overstep in my excitement for Georgia and BCN!
I tried recently re re-read all posts from just the last two weeks. It’s taken me hours and I have a laptop screen! I wouldn’t even try with a hand-held. The task of catching up with our posts from the very beginning is daunting, not to mention reading the earlier Breaking Cat News comics (and its’ blogs).
Therefore, in the spirit of Tommy’s great and good heart, let’s find a more amicable way to respond. You are all of you GOOD PEOPLE and I would call on you in a minute in a emergency. I am positive Georgia loves all her fans! Please! Please! PLEASE!!!!! Take care! >^.,.^<
I have to make a confession. Along with reading here (twice, actually), I get the strip the night before in my mailbox through ArcaMax. That’s not the confession. The confession is that when I saw Elvis going out the window and saying “It’s time to be A GOOD BOY”, my shout of YES! woke my Louise. In the next room. {sniff} I still feel bad.

“It’s time to be a GOOD BOY” is one of my favorite moments of the series. I can feel my cold, Grinchian heart growing.

I love how so much is conveyed by the ear positioning.

Elvis’ posture in the last panel reminds me of the WWII “Get the job done!” posters.

Way too many spoilers in the comments today and previous days for this series and a new reader. That’s ok, though. My eyes watered anyway.

my only quibble is why the window is open with a screen in it in the middle of winter.but it would be tough to move the plot forward otherwise.
