Pucky perseveres and shows us his perfect technique landing with a gentle “thud.” Meanwhile Lupin ….

Pucky is so graceful! But Lupin is just freestyling, I think.

Is Elvis judging this contest? Will we see scorecards? Are high and low scores discarded? Does it matter with Lupin since most of his are THWUMP scores?

how many belly-flops can lupin do at a time? seems like it’d hurt after awhile. then, again, seems like nothing hurts kitties (well, almost nothing..)

I love Puck’s hoodie with the pockets. And Elvis seems to have adjusted his headband so that he’s definitely rocking it today:)

Puck is pure poetry in motion, while Lupin prefers to come in with a bang. I just love how Georgia did this arc right when the Olympics has begun—I wonder if she planned that.

What immediately came to my mind: Babylon 5.Specifically, G’Kar telling someone that the bad guys they’d just finished dealing with “made a very satisfying THUMP when they hit the floor!” XD

Good morning, fellow BCN orbsters and orbabies. Lupin really needs to work on his landings, doesn’t he know cats are supposed to land on their feet?

Sweet Puck with only 3 legs lands perfectly, and adventure-kitty only gets a thumpy belly flop? How is this?

Possibly Puck’s lack of a back leg prevents him from leaping over, but there’s a lesson to be learned here for those who have not already figured this out: You cannot keep a cat from going ANYWHERE he/she wants to go! They will squeeze themselves into the smallest spaces. They will crawl into your closed dresser drawers from the back end. They will figure out how to open cupboards. If you close a door on them, they will scratch and cry and make you think they will JUST DIE if you don’t open that door!

I was thinking only yesterday about what a marvel of engineering cats are. I mean, these animals can easily go vertical four, maybe five times their own shoulder height from a standing position. Why, on a basketball court, they’d make Michael “Air” Jordan look like the real pussy by comparison.

Fellow PNW-ers, if you’re getting this snow please be warm and careful out there! It’s not huge flakes and we’re only supposed to get up to 20cm but that’s a lot for us

Puck’s “form” while climbing the baby gate reminds me of Garnet, one of my ferals. Her sister, Topaz, scales the fence like it isn’t even there. Poor Garnet struggles to get to the top, then hesitates to get her courage up before jumping to the other side. (Her landings are a bit more like Lupin’s, though.)

    Okay, so.

My dog has been having some issues this winter with hotspots on her rear. They have been moving around, but healing up after a short “attack”. I have been using an over the counter hotspot spray, and a couple of weeks ago i gave her a bath with a doggy anti dandruff shampoo. That worked good for a few days.

Today i went into town to shop and go to a safety meeting with the new agency.

When i came back Sweethearts rearend was all wet and it was obvious that she had a major licking-nibbling attack. Everywhere, not just one relatively small spot.

    There was blood.

    Vet.

She came home with a shaved butt, three bottles of pills, a spray, and a cone.

I was feeling horrible for her and horably guilty for a while there. But, the Vet. told me that its something that he’s seen before. He said that the hotspot “bloomed”. Well, it’s as red as a rose in spots, so i guess that fits.

There is no good time for this to happen, but the timing couldn’t get much worse now. Tomorrow is my ten hour day.

Tweet from Georgia last night: "A few nights ago, the Girl’s bedroom door opened. She padded out in her little footie pajamas, and said matter of factly, “I had a bad dream. A little witch was walking on my pillow. I need Elvis to come eat her.” "(she certainly chose the correct one of The Boys)

The judges aren’t looking at Lupin’s poor landing. They award points based on how nonchalant he is after the landing.

Howdydo, fellow orbsters! This is ShaunnMunn! Got better than halfway through reading responses & commenting when I realized Sis hadn’t logged out & I’m commenting under her name! Doesn’t matter! She spent the day with me & we pretty much agree on everything!

We took a flood tour today so’s she could see the damage. Amazing that such a small river could cause such chaos! No one can get through town N.S.E.W. We all have to take the outermost roads & head back in just to go to downtown.

Schools have been out, sewer & water are compromised in flood areas & parts connected to the plumbing. Thankfully, we’re on an entirely different set of lines, so no boil orders. My home is on such soggy ground that the foundation is shifting & cracking, & my living room is sagging in the middle. Ducks & geese are swimming right behind my backyard, less than 50 feet away, in a depression of the farm field that borders us. We had standing water around the foundation three days straight. Thankfully, it’s sunk in.

Hubby’s office building is half flooded. Electric, water & sewer out of commission. The parking lot has seen many news crews set up to view flooding of the major street the business is on.

The thing to remember & be thankful for is that we’re OK. So many people have it so much worse. And it’s nothing like our coastal regions have suffered from hurricanes, etc. From my insulated little Hoosier enclave I’ve experienced only a touch of what less fortunate folks have. They have my deepest sympathies and respect. Mother Nature is a tough old gal! She won’t be trifled with!

Love, prayers, and hope to all who suffer in any way! Blessings!
