Puck, unless you can get Elvis to a carpet, the vacuum cleaner will get both of you. If you are going to save him, do it quickly. We can hear the vac closing in.
Good morning and happy Thursday (Purrsday?) to all my fellow BCN orbsters and their orbabies! Yum Yum can accelerate on the hardwood flooring, and she’s OK if she is running when she hits the ceramic tile (momentum and all that jazz), but watching her try to accelerate on the ceramic tile is quite a treat.
We do not have carpeting at all, so our four boys are quite adept at racing about on the hardwood. Especially in the wee hours of the morning. Four sets of paws, including one polydactal, sound like a herd of buffalo stampeding.
In case any of the international obsters who would like to buy some of the BCN pins from GoComics missed it:

Christina Craver was able to give directions for International orders on another post. She said, "You can email the address below, and we will send you info on international purchases, thank you! comicartprints@amuniversal.com " It can be done, huzzah! (And trust in Christina, she’s a big reason we have these pins at all!)
Georgia posted last night on Facebook that the pins have already sold more than half of what is available.
Kitty Katz! For some reason the website won’t let me reply or even “like” your lyrics! Well, I like! Only I can’t place the tune. Help, pitty peas! Blessings! >^.,.^<
We have carpeting at home. Our summer cottage has wood floors, so when we bring the cats down they tend to go sliding into walls instead of cornering. And to make matters worse… when they get used to the wooden floors (and taking rides on the throw rugs) we bring them home… and they start running headfirst into walls because they corner too early, expecting to slide a bit, but grip on the carpet.

Puck seems to be sliding quite a bit himself, but maybe he can push or pull Elvis? Stay tuned!

Is there actually a thing where some cats, for whatever reason, are just unable to run on certain kinds of flooring?

Puck, quick. Run up to the vacuum and give it a hug. Tell it you want to be friends and to please leave Elvis alone.

In the day we investigate and read the news
That cats all want to see
At night we run at 2 am while the Humans try to sleep and dream,
And then we nap on the Big Red Couch
And let the world know that it belongs to the cats.
Oh! And then the dreaded vacuum comes along,
It’s a fur trap, it disturbs our nap!
We gotta leave the room before it’s done,
And Cats Like Us, kitty now we gotta run!
…….
Puck, please run and save yourself,
I’ll try to get away somehow.
Elvis, I’m not leaving you,
We’re gonna cross this floor right now!
Together we could get off this floor fast, outrun the vac,
If we had a few more toes!
Oh! If we can’t run we’ll just have to hide,
Lupin does it, we’ll figure out how it’s done!
Cause Cats Like Us, We know we gotta run!
…….
In the living room a Big Red Couch stands void of identity,
The fur is gone, we tried to help,
But instead we had to flee.
The cushions now are clean and stark
We’re huddled under the bed in a snit,
I wanna nap right now, Elvis or eat some kibble
I don’t like that vac one bit!
…….1-2-3-4
The Big Red Couch could belong to anyone!
An intruder could come and sleep,
I heard they come to sit on cats,
Keep quiet, don’t make a peep!
I know some day we will end the sadness,
We’ll be filled with gladness with kibble in our bowl
On! In a few minutes or thereabouts the vac will go away
And we can sleep in the sun!
But till then Cats Like Us,
Are gonna have to hide or run!

Its the carpet to linoleum transition that always gets them. Especially rounding the corner. Too much speed and down they go, off into the barriers!

Before they got too elderly, our guys used to like running and skidding. Their favorite chase games were on linoleum or wood floors.
